Monday Memento: Cape Tribulation Beach, Australia

IMG_1033

This remote jungle is tucked away in the ancient Daintree Rainforest in the northeastern territory of Queensland, Australia. Bringing together two World Heritage sites, the Daintree stretches out to the ocean, where it is met by the Great Barrier Reef just offshore (it is the closest part of the Australian coastline to the reef.) The humming of insects and other jungle wildlife ceases as soon as you emerge from the dense canopy of trees, where it is replaced by the gentle crashing of ocean waves upon remote stretches of pristine sand.
